Disqualified Medical Association Aspirants Claim Election Process Was Unfair

A group of aspirants for leadership positions within Nigeria’s medical associations has raised concerns over what they describe as irregularities in the recent screening process. The candidates, who were disqualified, allege that the process was marred by bias and lacked transparency.

One of the affected aspirants stated that the disqualification appeared to target specific individuals, questioning the criteria used to determine eligibility. The candidates are calling for a review of the screening procedures to ensure fairness and adherence to the association’s guidelines.

The medical associations, however, maintain that the disqualifications were based on compliance with established rules and regulations. Officials emphasized that only candidates who met all requirements were allowed to participate in the elections.

The controversy has sparked discussions among members of the medical community, with calls for greater accountability and clarity in future leadership selections to prevent disputes and maintain trust in the associations’ governance.
