Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has rolled out a series of empowerment initiatives for residents of her Apapa Constituency 1.

At the 10th Annual Stakeholders’ Meeting held on Thursday at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Meranda distributed food palliatives to over 500 households and provided financial support of ₦100,000 each to more than 100 petty traders.

In partnership with Zenco Group of Companies, five students received full scholarships for tertiary education, while 200 youths graduated from a summer coding boot camp.

Speaking on the theme “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Meranda described the programmes as practical demonstrations of leadership delivering on promises. She noted that through state interventions, residents had benefited from employment opportunities in TESCOM, LASTMA, the Neighbourhood Watch, the Lagos Blue Rail Line, and the Local Government Service Commission.

She also announced upcoming road rehabilitation projects in collaboration with the Lagos State Public Works Corporation, covering several roads including Adele Road, Payne Crescent, Ogedegbe Road, Freetown Road, and Julius Berger Road in Ijora GRA.

Meranda further highlighted borehole projects aimed at providing clean water across communities, stressing her commitment to education, healthcare, and community development.

“Our constituency is experiencing the real dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda. I remain committed to walking this journey with you until Apapa stands as a model of progress in Lagos and across Nigeria,” she affirmed.

The meeting was one of 40 held simultaneously across Lagos constituencies. Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, in his goodwill message, emphasized that the theme was chosen to reflect tangible gains of governance in alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.
