Nigeria National League (NNL) club, Sporting Lagos, have confirmed the appointment of Jeffery Buter as their new head coach. Buter steps into the role after previously serving as assistant to former handler, Shola Adegun.
Adegun recently departed Sporting Lagos to take up a coaching position with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Plateau United, paving the way for Buter’s elevation.
The new manager brings with him solid coaching credentials, holding English FA and Scottish FA licenses, while also working toward completing his UEFA C license. His appointment is seen as a move to strengthen the team’s technical bench ahead of the new campaign.
Sporting Lagos are gearing up for the 2025/26 NNL season after narrowly missing out on qualification for the playoffs last term, and Buter will be tasked with guiding the club to a stronger finish.
