Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Samson Ogah, has commended the activities of the Abia Rejoice Movement, describing it as a platform of unity and collective progress for the people of Abia State. He stressed that the movement is not a political party Movement but a rallying point for citizens who desire positiity and development.

Speaking during an interactive session with Newsmen, Dr. Ogah said the movement was born out of the need to give Abians a sense of belonging, restore their confidence, and create an avenue for inclusive participation in the socio-economic rebirth of the state. According to him, Abia Rejoice is people-centered and will continue to advocate for good governance, youth empowerment, and community development.

“We must make it clear: Abia Rejoice is not a political party movement, It is a citizens’ movement, a call for everyone to unite under the banner of progress irrespective of political or ethnic affiliations,” Ogah emphasized.

Dr. Ogah further highlighted that the movement has already recorded remarkable achievements in mobilizing grassroots support, promoting unity across communities, and engaging professionals, youths, and women in developmental conversations. He insisted that these efforts are focused on building a strong foundation for Abia’s future rather than partisan contests.

The former minister also used the occasion to encourage Abians not to see politics as the only vehicle for change but to embrace civic movements and platforms like Abia Rejoice that provide avenues for participation outside the traditional political structure. He explained that such platforms help bridge the gap between leadership and the people, ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard.

While calling on stakeholders to key into the vision of the movement, Dr. Ogah affirmed that Abia Rejoice would continue to prioritize the welfare of the people and promote initiatives that strengthen peace, unity, and economic growth. He urged members to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to the ideals of service and transformation.

Dr. Ogah concluded by expressing optimism that with collective efforts, Abia State would reclaim its pride of place in the comity of states. He reiterated that Abia Rejoice Movement is not competing with political parties but rather complementing efforts toward building a better future for all Abians.
