The Jigawa State government has officially relieved Sharia Court Judge Sadisu Muhammad‑Haruna of his duties following allegations of corruption and unlawful detention.

An internal investigation found that the judge had engaged in improper conduct, including collecting unauthorised fees and detaining individuals without following legal procedures, actions deemed a serious breach of judicial ethics.

State officials stressed that the removal is part of a broader effort to ensure accountability and restore public confidence in the judiciary.

Authorities also confirmed plans to reinforce oversight mechanisms and provide additional training for judicial officers to prevent similar incidents in the future.
