Large-scale demonstrations broke out across several major cities in South Africa as thousands of citizens took to the streets, demanding tougher action on immigration and the removal of  foreigners from the country.

The protests, which drew significant crowds in urban centers, were fueled by growing frustrations over unemployment, rising living costs, and concerns about pressure on public services. Many demonstrators carried placards and chanted slogans calling on the government to prioritize citizens in job opportunities and social welfare programs.

Organizers of the rallies insisted that their actions were aimed at drawing attention to economic hardship and not promoting violence. However, authorities remained on high alert, deploying security personnel to maintain order and prevent any escalation into unrest.

Government officials acknowledged the concerns raised by protesters, urging calm while reiterating commitments to address economic challenges and strengthen border control systems. They also emphasized the importance of upholding human rights and avoiding actions that could lead to xenophobic violence.

Community leaders and civil society groups have called for dialogue, warning that tensions between locals and foreign nationals could worsen if not carefully managed. They stressed the need for long-term solutions, including job creation, economic reforms, and better migration policies.

The situation continues to develop, with authorities closely monitoring events and appealing to citizens to express their grievances peacefully.
