“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1

Fear is one of the greatest enemies of faith. It whispers lies into our hearts, telling us that we are not strong enough, not qualified enough, or that God has forgotten us. Yet throughout scripture, God consistently says to His children: “Fear not, for I am with you.” (Isaiah 41:10).

The story of Joshua reminds us of God’s presence in times of uncertainty. When Moses died and leadership passed to Joshua, fear and doubt must have filled his heart. But God gave him this promise: “Be strong and of a good courage… for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9). With that assurance, Joshua led Israel into their promised inheritance.

David also faced giants, enemies, and betrayals, yet he declared boldly: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.” (Psalm 23:4). His confidence was not in his weapons, but in the presence of God who never forsakes His people.

Fear paralyzes, but faith strengthens. The Bible says, “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7). Every time fear rises, we must answer it with God’s Word, for faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

Beloved, remember this: God’s light drives away every darkness. His salvation is our assurance. His strength sustains us even when our hearts feel weak. We need not fear tomorrow, because the One who holds tomorrow also holds our lives in His hands.

So stand firm in faith, and declare with confidence: “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” (Hebrews 13:6).
