Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has extended warm felicitations to all Nigerian girls as the world celebrates the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child.
In a goodwill message issued in Umuahia, Engr. Orji hailed the resilience, intelligence, and determination of the Nigerian girl, describing them as a vital force in nation-building and a reflection of the country’s hope for a brighter future.
“On this special day, I celebrate every girl child in Abia State and across Nigeria,” Engr. Orji said. “You represent courage, creativity, and the promise of a better tomorrow. Our society must continue to create an environment where your dreams can flourish and your rights are fully protected.”
He commended parents, teachers, and advocates who continue to promote girls’ education and empowerment. Engr. Orji emphasized that no nation can achieve sustainable progress without giving women and girls equal access to education, technology, and leadership opportunities.
“Educating and empowering the girl child remains one of the greatest investments any society can make,” he noted. “When you educate a girl, you uplift an entire generation.”
The International Day of the Girl Child, observed every October 11, is dedicated to promoting the rights, education, and well-being of girls around the world.
