The management of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State, has expelled 34 students for involvement in examination malpractice.
In addition, 13 students have been suspended for one academic session, while several others were issued warning letters for related offences.
This was contained in a statement released by the institution’s Head of Information, Publications and Public Relations Unit, Abdullahi Datti.
According to the statement, the disciplinary actions were approved following the consideration of the Examinations Regulations and Irregularities Committee report during the 123rd Senate meeting held on October 9, 2025. “The report recommended various sanctions for students found guilty of examination misconduct,” it stated.
Meanwhile, the university has announced the establishment of a Centre for Equipment Maintenance aimed at ensuring the proper functioning of academic and research facilities across all faculties.
The centre will handle preventive maintenance, repair faulty equipment, and conduct regular training for staff and students on safe handling and basic maintenance procedures.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Musa Yakasai, has also approved the appointment of Dr. Murtala Dambatta from the Department of Mechanical Engineering as the pioneer Director of the newly established centre.
