Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, has reignited his long-standing rivalry with fellow hip-hop star Odumodublvck following the release of his new 16-track album, No Excuses.
The album, which dropped on Friday, October 17, features major collaborations with Phyno, Olamide, Bella Shmurda, Pa Salieu, and Young Jonn, as well as production credits from Jae5, Magicsticks, Blaisebeatz, and Black Culture.
One of the tracks, titled “ACL,” has stirred controversy online after Blaqbonez appeared to throw lyrical shots at Odumodublvck. In the song, he raps:
> “Make dem no tear their ACL ’cause they wan flow like Blaq / Failed rappers turning to internet gangsters.”
He further added:
> “Anti-World? More like anti-success,”
a line widely interpreted as a jab at Odumodublvck’s rap collective, Anti-World Gang.
The feud between both rappers dates back to February 2025, when Odumodublvck claimed that no Nigerian rap album could match the impact of his 2023 project, Eziokwu. Tensions escalated further during the Headies Awards in April, where Odumodublvck was reportedly seen making an obscene gesture toward Blaqbonez.
No Excuses marks what Blaqbonez calls his “Super Saiyan era,” representing a new phase of creative freedom and global ambition. Alongside the album, he released a cinematic video for Consistency, directed by DON Prod and featuring AJ Tracey.
Outside music, Blaqbonez continues to make headlines in the fashion world, recently becoming the first Nigerian artiste to walk the runway for Vivienne Westwood. He was also spotted at Vetements, MAINS, and Labrum fashion shows in Europe.
Meanwhile, Odumodublvck, who released his fifth studio album Industry Machine on October 6, has not publicly responded to Blaqbonez’s diss. His project currently tops Apple Music Nigeria’s charts, underscoring his strong presence in the country’s rap scene.
As fans debate on social media over who holds the title of Nigeria’s rap king, one thing is clear the battle for supremacy between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck is far from over.
