Amadeus University in Amizi, Ikwuano LGA, Abia State, has received official approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to launch three professional programs: Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), Law (LLB), and Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel M. Nzotta, announced the approval ahead of the university’s second matriculation ceremony, emphasizing that it came after a thorough evaluation of the institution’s faculty, facilities, and resources.

Prof. Nzotta revealed that the university has already enrolled its first cohort of MBBS students for the 2025/2026 academic session. With these additions, Amadeus University now offers 22 NUC-accredited programs across seven faculties.

He further noted that the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria had given the green light for the Nursing Science program following an advisory visit in October 2025, describing these developments as a significant step toward establishing the university as an international hub for education and research.
