A Magistrate Court in Kano has ordered the state Hisbah Board to facilitate the marriage of popular TikTok content creator, Ashir Mai Wushirya, and his frequent collaborator, the dwarf comedian known as Basira Yar Guda, within 60 days.

The directive, issued on Monday by Magistrate Halima Wali of Magistrate Court 3, followed their arrest and prosecution by the Kano State Films and Video Censorship Board for alleged immorality over a series of comedic wedding-themed skits.

According to Freedom Radio, the court’s ruling came after Basira Yar Guda confirmed her willingness to marry Mai Wushirya during proceedings.

Following the judgment, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Film and Video Censorship Board, Abba El-Mustapha, appealed to the public to support the pair by contributing to their wedding expenses.

The order has stirred debate among social media users, as reports indicate that the viral TikToker had previously featured the comedian in his videos mainly to boost viewership.
