President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Kano State Governor and influential politician, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, on his birthday, praising his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s political and socio-economic development.
In a statement released on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended warm wishes to Kwankwaso’s family, friends, and political associates, commending his service to the nation in various capacities.
Tinubu highlighted Kwankwaso’s achievements as a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Third Republic, a two-term Governor of Kano State, Minister of Defence, and Senator representing Kano Central, noting that each role showcased his commitment to public service and national progress.
The President acknowledged Kwankwaso’s strong political influence in the North, especially in Kano, describing him as a pro-people leader whose style of politics reflects the ideals of late nationalist icons, Mallam Aminu Kano and Alhaji Abubakar Rimi.
“Senator Kwankwaso remains a friend and ally with whom I served in the National Assembly in 1992 and later as governor in 1999. We also worked together in founding the All Progressives Congress (APC). Although he later established the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), he still stands within the progressive fold,” Tinubu said.
President Tinubu wished Senator Kwankwaso good health, long life, and continued dedication to the service of Nigeria and humanity.
