Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has inaugurated the Accreditation and Special Duties subcommittees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in preparation for the party’s 2025 Elective National Convention.
The convention is set to take place on November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, the inauguration of the Accreditation Subcommittee took place on Friday at the Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja.
Governor Lawal described the accreditation committee as a crucial component of the convention process, stressing its importance to the credibility and transparency of the event.
“To the men and women selected to serve on this subcommittee, I extend a special welcome,” Lawal said. “You have been chosen for one of the most critical assignments in our democratic journey. The task before you forms the foundation of a credible and successful convention.”
He explained that the committee’s duties include compiling the official delegates’ list, preparing accreditation materials such as booklets and tags, and ensuring the welfare of delegates and dignitaries.
“This is not merely an administrative role—it is a sacred trust,” he added. “You are the gatekeepers of our convention’s integrity.”
Later, while inaugurating the Special Duties Subcommittee at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, Governor Lawal commended the committee members for their integrity, prudence, and dedication.
He noted that the committee’s responsibilities include coordinating financial operations, approving budgets, managing fundraising, ensuring transparent disbursements, and supporting other committees in executing their functions.
“Your role is central,” Lawal emphasized. “You are the convention’s central nervous system, ensuring that every component operates smoothly and efficiently.”
