All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Osun State, Babajide Omoworare, has ruled out stepping down for his kinsman, Iyiola Omisore, ahead of the party’s December primary.

Speaking in Osogbo, the former senator said it was time for older politicians like Omisore to allow younger leaders to take charge.

“In Yorubaland, elders usually leave opportunities for their younger brothers. My senior brother should allow me to run,” Omoworare stated.

He described his relationship with Omisore as cordial and expressed readiness to support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.

If elected, Omoworare pledged to transform Osun into an industrialised, productive state, complete ongoing projects like the state airport, and focus on infrastructure, education, agriculture, and the creative economy.

He added, “Governance is serious business. If people elect a clown, they should expect a circus. I’m not desperate for power, only to serve.”
