The newly appointed Ilorin Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Commander CE Anselem Ozioko, has pledged to intensify the Commission’s anti-corruption efforts across Kwara, Kogi, and Niger States.

Ozioko made this commitment on Friday during a brief handover ceremony held at the EFCC Conference Room in the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ilorin, where he officially assumed office from his predecessor, Mr. Daniel Isei, who has been redeployed to the Enugu Zonal Directorate.

In his remarks, Ozioko commended Isei for his leadership and achievements, promising to consolidate and expand the successes recorded by the Ilorin office in the fight against economic and financial crimes.

“I am deeply grateful to the management of the Commission for the trust placed in me,” he said. “I look forward to working collaboratively with all staff to strengthen our operations and sustain the fight against corruption in Kwara, Kogi, and Niger States. Together, we will take the Ilorin Zone to greater heights.”

He emphasized professionalism, teamwork, and integrity as the guiding principles of his leadership, assuring residents that the EFCC under his watch will remain steadfast in promoting transparency and accountability across public and private institutions.

In his farewell address, outgoing Zonal Director, Mr. Isei, expressed appreciation to God and EFCC Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, for the opportunity to serve, describing his tenure in Ilorin as both rewarding and impactful.

“My time in Ilorin has been fulfilling. I thank the staff for their commitment and teamwork in advancing the Commission’s mandate. I am confident that my successor will build on our achievements,” he said.

Ozioko, a seasoned lawyer with over 30 years of experience, has attended several professional trainings and international conferences in the United States, France, Botswana, and Ghana. Before his posting to Ilorin, he served as the EFCC Zonal Director in Makurdi and had previously headed the Legal and Prosecution Departments in the Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Ilorin Directorates.
