President Tinubu Approves Appointment of Five Permanent Secretaries to Reinforce Public Service Leadership

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries to fill vacant positions in the Federal Civil Service, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to promote merit, competence, and professionalism in governance.

The new Permanent Secretaries include Ibrahim Abdulkarim Ozi from the Federal Capital Territory, Ezemama John Chidiebere from Imo State, Garba Abdul Sule Usman representing the North Central Zone, Mohammed Musa Ishiyaku from the North East Zone, and Ukaire Binyerem Chigbowu from the South East Zone.

A statement issued by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation disclosed that the appointments were made after a transparent and competitive selection process designed to elevate only the most qualified officers to leadership positions within the Civil Service.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, congratulated the appointees and commended President Tinubu for upholding transparency and meritocracy in the selection process. She emphasized that the new appointments reflect the administration’s focus on building a dynamic and results-oriented public sector.

Walson-Jack further noted that the new Permanent Secretaries are expected to strengthen the operational capacity of the Federal Civil Service and enhance its ability to meet the expectations of Nigerians. The appointees are to assume their duties immediately.
