Ned Nwoko Addresses Marital Crisis, Accuses Regina Daniels’ Family of Drug Influence

Senator Ned Nwoko has broken his silence regarding the reported marital issues between him and his wife, actress Regina Daniels, amid the recent arrest of her brother, Samuel Daniels, popularly known as Sammy West.

In a detailed statement, Nwoko alleged that Regina’s siblings and friends have been a negative influence on her, accusing them of enabling drug abuse and disrupting her rehabilitation. He claimed that Sammy had repeatedly visited his home to harass his children, staff, and security personnel, particularly during his absence.

“This is someone I sponsored through his last two years at the University of Ekpoma,” Nwoko stated. “I bought his musical instruments, rented and furnished an apartment for him in Abuja, and purchased a house for Regina in Asaba before our marriage. In addition, I provided regular allowances to all family members, including her mother, Rita Daniels. In the last two years alone, I transferred ₦125 million to her.”

The senator explained that Regina had been undergoing treatment for substance dependence, during which her doctors advised limited contact with certain individuals. However, he alleged that her siblings—Sammy and Destiny—and some friends, including Sonia Uche Montana, disregarded medical guidance and continued visiting her uninvited.

“They would show up at the house, sometimes forcing their way in, bringing her the very substances she was trying to recover from,” Nwoko claimed. “Rather than support her healing, they worsened her condition and frustrated the therapists.”

He also alleged that Sammy and his brother Lawrence were responsible for introducing Regina to drugs and that both men, along with her friends, were users themselves.

Recalling a recent confrontation, Nwoko said, “At about 4 a.m., I found Regina under the influence and on a call. She told me Sammy’s girlfriend was in her room. I asked my driver to take the girl home, but shortly after, Sammy stormed the house, yelling and threatening to fight. He woke everyone, including the children. I had to order my security to remove him.”

According to him, Regina’s relatives and friends even clashed with police officers assigned to his residence, insulting and threatening them whenever they tried to enforce the doctor’s restrictions.

Nwoko recounted further troubling incidents, such as Regina spending nights away from home without contact and missing their children’s birthday celebration. “I endured a lot for the sake of the kids,” he said.

The senator dismissed recent viral videos showing a scuffle at his residence, saying they were orchestrated by Regina’s family. “The video was filmed outside my house while I was away. No one was assaulted, it was all staged by her sister and a friend. It was a complete Nollywood act,” he said.

Nwoko added that while he had supported several members of Regina’s family financially, including a $75,000 scholarship for Lawrence to study in London, Sammy had refused similar assistance. “He should focus on rebuilding his life. He’s been arrested multiple times by the police and EFCC. What he needs is rehabilitation, not drama,” he stated.

The senator’s remarks follow online exchanges between him and the Daniels family after reports surfaced that Sammy West had been arrested and that Nwoko had allegedly sent thugs to assault Regina, allegations he firmly denied.
