The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a reduction in the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims across the country, marking a significant drop from the rates charged in 2025.

In a statement posted on its official X handle on Monday, the Commission said the downward review aims to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of next year’s Hajj exercise.

According to the new fare structure, pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96 — a decrease of ₦748,104.63 from the 2025 rate of ₦8,327,125.59.

For the Northern Zone, the fare has been reduced to ₦7,696,769.76, representing a ₦760,915.83 cut from last year’s ₦8,457,685.59.
Similarly, intending pilgrims from the Southern Zone will now pay ₦7,991,141.76, reflecting a ₦792,943.83 reduction from the 2025 fare of ₦8,784,085.59.

NAHCON also announced December 5, 2025, as the new deadline for all intending pilgrims to complete their payments. The Commission urged applicants to meet the deadline to ensure a smooth processing experience.

“For more details, intending pilgrims are advised to visit our official website, www.nahcon.gov.ng,” the statement added.

The revision follows a directive issued in October by President Bola Tinubu, through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Ibrahim Hadeija, instructing NAHCON to reduce the cost of the 2026 Hajj packages previously announced in September.
