The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will on Tuesday commence Computer-Based Test (CBT) promotion examinations for 8,000 employees drawn from 165 cadres within both the Administration and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The announcement was made on Sunday by the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission (FCT-CSC), Emeka Ezeh, who said the examinations will run for five days and conclude on Saturday.

According to Ezeh, the exams are scheduled to take place from Tuesday, November 25, to Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the National Open University Study Centre along Kubwa Road in Abuja.

It will be recalled that on August 26, 2025, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communication and News Media, Lere Olayinka, released the results of the first-ever CBT promotion exam held on August 12, 2025. In that exercise, Minister Nyesom Wike approved the promotion of 49 deputy directors to directors across various departments, as part of efforts to clear outstanding promotion arrears from 2023 to 2025 for Grade Level 16 officers.

In his latest statement, the FCT-CSC Chairman explained that the new round of promotion exams follows the minister’s approval to fast-track the conclusion of the 2024 promotion cycle. He said the decision is part of measures to motivate staff and ensure that all cadres receive the long-awaited promotions.

Ezeh added that the upcoming examinations will also be conducted through the CBT system, reinforcing the Administration’s shift toward a fully digital promotion process — a platform earlier approved by the FCT Minister.
