Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has dismissed recent rumours suggesting he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the claims as false.

In a statement from his media office, Alia called the story a smear campaign aimed at undermining his administration and misleading the public.

He explained that his recent meetings with various leaders, including those outside his party, are part of his inclusive leadership approach and not an indication of any plans to leave the APC.

Alia reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and urged citizens to disregard the rumours, which he described as politically motivated.
