Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has signed the 2026 appropriation bill into law, approving a total budget of ₦897.9 billion. About 18.7% of the budget is allocated for recurrent expenditure, while 81.3% is dedicated to capital projects.
In Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori presented a proposed 2026 budget of ₦1.664 trillion to the State House of Assembly under the theme “Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda.” Approximately 70% of this proposal is earmarked for capital expenditure, highlighting the state’s focus on infrastructure and socio-economic development.
The two budgets reflect different fiscal strategies: Katsina emphasizes capital-intensive projects with minimal recurrent spending, whereas Delta aims for broad infrastructure, social services, and economic growth. Observers note that the success of both plans will depend on effective implementation and transparent allocation of resources.
