Two people sustained injuries on Tuesday when a truck attempting to overtake along the Abeokuta–Lagos Expressway collided with several vehicles.
According to the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), the accident involved four vehicles: an IVECO truck (WDE 483 XB), a M.A.N truck (T 13532 LA), an OPEL Safari (FST 957 JJ), and a Mitsubishi Space Wagon (KJA 933 HR).
TRACE spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said 17 passengers were involved—12 men and 5 women. Two victims were injured and have been taken to the hospital, while no deaths were recorded.
The report comes just days after another multiple crash on November 17 at Omoyele Junction, Sagamu–Ikorodu Expressway, where 15 people were injured after a speeding truck lost control and rammed into a Toyota Highlander, a Suzuki mini-bus and a motorcycle.
Akinbiyi noted that TRACE officials, alongside the Police, handled rescue operations and cleared the roadway to restore traffic flow.
