President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly approved the distribution of several vehicles to state coordinators of a political mobilisation group ahead of the 2027 general elections. The vehicles include Toyota Hilux trucks, a Hummer bus, and other utility vehicles, which were handed over during a gathering in Abuja.
The distribution was carried out as part of the build-up of a nationwide campaign structure aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation across the states. Coordinators were reportedly instructed to organize campaign outreach activities and expand voter engagement networks in preparation for the next election cycle.
Sources familiar with the initiative said the programme is being coordinated under the platform of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a group formed to promote Tinubu’s political agenda. Each state chapter is also expected to contribute significant funds towards campaign logistics and mobilisation efforts.
However, the move has drawn criticism from concerned citizens and opposition voices who argue that the timing is inappropriate, given the country’s persistent security challenges and economic difficulties. They insist that government resources should be directed toward addressing insecurity and hardship rather than early political mobilization.
