HURIWA CONDEMNS ONYEJEOCHA’S RELENTLESS COURT ACTIONS AS FRESH SUIT TARGETS HON AMOBI OGAH

HURIWA has raised alarm over what it describes as a calculated, vindictive, and undemocratic siege launched by Barr Nkiruka Onyejeocha against the duly elected representative of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon Amobi Ogah.

The revered human rights organization condemned Onyejeocha’s latest court action accusing Hon Ogah of false declaration under oath, perjury, injurious falsehood, and criminal defamation, calling the charges baseless, politically engineered, and morally troubling. According to HURIWA, this fresh lawsuit is yet another chapter in an unending campaign of judicial intimidation targeted at overturning the will of the electorate.

Analysts also note that beyond the legal theatrics, Onyejeocha’s persistent hostility appears rooted in a deep envy for Hon Amobi Ogah’s rising influence and visible achievements within such a short time in office. Ogah’s swift connection with the grassroots, his bold interventions, and his refreshing political presence have earned him admiration across the constituency, a development that observers say has unsettled his predecessor who once dominated the space uncontested.

Since Hon Amobi Ogah’s declaration by the court as the rightful occupant of the House of Representatives seat, he has faced wave after wave of legal aggression, all coming from his predecessor who now serves as Minister of State for Labour and Productivity. Many observers believe that instead of accepting the verdict of both the ballot and the judiciary, Barr Onyejeocha has chosen the path of relentless confrontation, dragging Ogah through emotionally draining and politically motivated court battles.

Community voices share this outrage. Chief Azuka of Umunneochi expressed deep disappointment, stating that after sixteen uninterrupted years in the National Assembly, Onyejeocha still refuses to respect the new direction chosen by the people. “The election is over. The people have spoken. Why won’t she let the will of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi stand?” he queried.

HURIWA further lamented that Onyejeocha appears to be leaning on her long-time legal ally, now the Minister of Justice, to advance a personal vendetta disguised as litigation, a move they say threatens the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic framework.

For many political watchers, these ceaseless suits represent nothing short of targeted political harassment against Hon Amobi Ogah, who has continued to maintain calm and dignity despite the pressure. Constituents and opinion leaders insist that no amount of courtroom intimidation will erase the mandate freely entrusted to him by the people, who now view him as a symbol of resilience against oppression and political overreach.
