GREGORY UNIVERSITY UTURU CONFERS HONORARY DOCTORATE ON EZE LINUS NTO MBAH

Gregory University, Uturu (GUU), has conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management on the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Sir Linus Nto Mbah (Linto).

The honorary degree was presented during the university’s 10th Convocation Ceremony held at the Goodluck Jonathan Auditorium. While conferring the award, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Cele U. Njoku, described the 10th convocation as a celebration of a bold dream realized.

Professor Njoku urged the graduating students to view education not merely as the acquisition of knowledge, but as a call to character, service, and responsible citizenship. He congratulated the graduates as well as Eze Linus Nto Mbah for their outstanding achievements.

In his response, Eze Dr. Linus Nto Mbah expressed gratitude to the university for the honor bestowed on him. He particularly appreciated the Founder and Chancellor of the university, Professor Gregory Ibe; the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Cele U. Njoku; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Uwaoma Kalu Uche; and other members of the university management.

The royal father also commended Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for providing an enabling environment that encourages private investors, such as Professor Gregory Ibe, to invest in the state. He further promised to appeal to the governor to facilitate the reconstruction of the university’s access road.

Eze Dr. Linus Mbah praised Gregory University Uturu for its remarkable achievements over the past ten years and urged the institution to sustain its growth and excellence. He also donated millions of naira toward the construction of student hostels in the university.

The convocation ceremony was attended by the wife of the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Ugoeze Grace Nto Mbah, members of the traditional institution, members of the Eze’s cabinet from Ata Igbo-Ukwu Kingdom, Umuzomgbo-Ihechiowa, as well as other distinguished guests.
