Several Nigerian players stood out during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage in Morocco, earning recognition among the tournament’s top‑rated performers. Forward Ademola Lookman was particularly impressive, earning a spot in the official Group Stage Best XI thanks to his goals, assists, and consistent influence on Nigeria’s attack.
Lookman was the only Nigerian named in the best XI, reflecting his key role in helping the Super Eagles top Group C with three straight wins. His pace, creativity, and ability to create chances made him one of the most dangerous players in the opening round.
In addition to Lookman, other Nigerian stars also received high ratings for their performances through the group matches, contributing to Nigeria’s perfect record and advancement to the Round of 16.
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle was also recognised, being named the best coach of the group stage in acknowledgement of Nigeria’s tactical discipline and cohesion under his leadership.
As the tournament moves into the knockout phase, Nigeria will look to build on its strong group showing with further standout performances from its key players.
