Imo State has received a new consignment of electricity equipment in Owerri as part of efforts to enhance power reliability and move closer to achieving uninterrupted electricity supply in the capital and nearby communities.

According to the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Electronic and Creative Media, the arrival of the latest equipment represents a significant step in the state government’s ongoing power reform programme.

The new units are expected to strengthen distribution capacity, reduce frequent outages, and support a more consistent power supply across key parts of Owerri and adjoining areas. Installation work is set to begin immediately in line with project timelines.

Officials reaffirmed Governor Hope Uzodimma’s commitment to improving electricity infrastructure, portraying the promise of 24‑hour power as part of a deliberate and structured plan.

Residents and businesses in the state capital have already reported longer electricity supply hours and fewer disruptions, suggesting early improvements as the programme progresses.
