Nigeria’s National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has announced that it recovered 370 Nigerian citizens from trafficking situations in countries including Ghana, Senegal, and others as part of its anti‑trafficking operations.

The agency also reported that 93 alleged traffickers were detained and are facing prosecution in connection with the cases. These operations aim to dismantle transnational trafficking networks that exploit Nigerians with false promises of jobs or education abroad.

Many of the rescued victims were reportedly being held in conditions of exploitation or forced into activities such as cybercrime or sexual exploitation before their liberation and repatriation. NAPTIP has coordinated with international partners and foreign authorities to locate and return victims to Nigeria, where they can receive support and protective services.

The agency’s actions are part of broader regional cooperation efforts to combat human trafficking and related crimes, which involve cross‑border intelligence sharing and joint operations.
