Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), supported by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), staged a protest at the National Industrial Court in Abuja, pressing for the resolution of outstanding labour issues.

The striking employees, organized under the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC), are demanding better salaries, payment of promotion arrears, and improved working conditions. The protest highlights ongoing tensions between the FCTA workforce and the administration of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Placards carried during the march called for Wike’s removal and drew attention to grievances such as unpaid promotions and inadequate work resources. The NLC affirmed its backing of the action, urging solidarity among union members and describing the protest as a response to workers’ rights violations.

The dispute has also reached the courts, with Wike challenging the legality of the strike. Workers insist that their action will continue until all unresolved demands are addressed, while the FCTA administration maintains that progress has been made in negotiations.
