The Ekiti State Police Command has uncovered an alleged illegal baby factory in Ikere-Ekiti, arresting five suspects and rescuing six children during the operation.

The raid followed credible intelligence about suspicious activities at a facility located behind a hotel along Ise-Ekiti Road. Acting on the information, police operatives stormed the premises and took five individuals into custody.

The suspects include a 43-year-old man identified as the alleged operator of the facility and four women believed to be his accomplices. One of the women was reportedly heavily pregnant at the time of arrest.

During the operation, six children aged between two and nine were rescued from the location. Items suspected to have been used for illegal childbirth and child trafficking activities were also recovered from the premises.

The police said investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the operation and identify other persons who may be involved. The rescued children have been placed under protective care while further inquiries continue.
