A group representing the Ukwa La Ngwa people in Abia State has raised ₦100 million to help cover the cost of Governor Alex Otti’s nomination forms as he prepares for a second term bid in the 2027 governorship election.

The contribution was announced during a large civic reception held in the governor’s honour at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba. Organisers said the funds were collected collectively and pledged additional support if needed.

In his remarks, Governor Otti thanked the crowd for the show of confidence and said his administration will continue prioritising the welfare of residents. He also highlighted upcoming infrastructure plans for the state, including the commissioning of Ovom Road and the start of reconstruction work on the Enyimba Hotel, which will be managed by Radisson Blu.

Speakers at the event described the gathering not just as a political gesture but as an expression of broad approval for Otti’s performance since taking office.
