The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that screening for applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force will commence on March 9, 2026.
The exercise is part of the ongoing process to recruit 50,000 constables nationwide. In a statement issued by the Commission’s spokesperson, Torty Njoku Kalu, only candidates who successfully completed the online application process will be eligible to participate.
According to the PSC, the screening will be conducted physically across all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from March 9 to April 18, 2026. The process will involve verification of credentials and other required documents.
Applicants have been advised to visit the recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to check their application status and print necessary documents. These include the Guarantors’ Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credentials Screening Form, and Physical Screening Form. Candidates are required to present these documents at their designated screening centres on the date and time specified on their invitation slips.
The Commission listed the required documents to include the Invitation Slip with the assigned table number, original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or NIMC card, O’Level certificate (GCE/SSCE), birth certificate or declaration of age, local government certificate of origin, and trade test or professional certificates for specialist applicants.
Applicants must also submit properly completed and signed Guarantors’ Forms, along with photocopies and passport photographs of their referees. All original credentials and duplicates should be arranged in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.
In addition, candidates are expected to appear at their screening venues dressed in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white stockings.
The PSC Chairman, Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), emphasised that the recruitment process is free of charge and does not require any payment at any stage. He assured applicants that the exercise would be conducted transparently and urged them to beware of fraudsters attempting to exploit the recruitment process.
