A swift operation by the Nigerian Army in Enugu State prevented a kidnapping and ensured the safe release of three individuals targeted by armed criminals. The incident took place along the Otukpo–Enugu corridor, a route known for occasional security challenges.

Military sources revealed that intelligence reports alerted troops to the abduction attempt. Soldiers quickly mobilized, intercepting the suspects before they could harm the victims. The kidnappers were forced to abandon their captives and flee the scene.

During the operation, the army recovered evidence left behind by the criminals, including personal items and a mobile device. Authorities praised the efficiency of the troops and highlighted the importance of rapid response in curbing abduction attempts.

Residents and travelers in the area have been urged to remain cautious, report suspicious activity immediately, and cooperate with security forces to maintain safety on the roads.
