Nigeria’s senior women’s football team, the Super Falcons, have intensified their final preparations ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a series of high-intensity training sessions in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The nine-time African champions are using two friendly matches against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon to sharpen tactics, test squad depth, and strengthen team cohesion ahead of the continental tournament in Morocco next month.

Under head coach Justine Madugu, the team has been focusing on technical drills, attacking combinations, and defensive organization. Both veteran stars and newly invited players are competing for spots in the final tournament lineup.

Key players, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, have already arrived in camp, while foreign-based talents are set to join from their clubs. These preparations aim to give the Falcons the sharpness needed as they seek to defend their title and maintain their dominance in African women’s football.

The friendly fixtures will take place over the weekend and early next week, providing the squad with valuable opportunities to test itself against a strong regional rival before WAFCON kicks off in mid-March.
