Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has reiterated his backing for President Bola Tinubu, stating that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has yet to learn from past mistakes and remains disconnected from his perspective.
Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, Wike emphasized that his support for Tinubu is based on personal judgment and conviction, rather than strict party loyalty. He believes the President and his allies are the strongest option for leadership at this time.
Wike criticized the PDP for its poor internal consultation, noting that he was not involved in the selection of many of its candidates. He argued that this lack of engagement demonstrates that the party has not evolved in its decision-making processes.
He added that his support extends beyond party lines to anyone who aligns with Tinubu’s agenda and defended measures taken during elections as necessary for security, dismissing claims that they disenfranchised voters.
