Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, accused of orchestrating the murders of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motshoane, have signaled a change of stance, informing the Durban Magistrate’s Court that they intend to apply for bail.
The brothers, through their lawyer, made the announcement after previously indicating they would not seek bail. Their lawyer also revealed plans to request that the siblings be transferred from Bongweni Super Max Correctional Facility in Kokstad to Westville Prison in Durban.
The Ndimande brothers were extradited from eSwatini late last year. Forbes and Motshoane were shot and killed outside a restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road in February 2023.
In addition to the high-profile murder charges, the brothers face several other accusations, including the murder of a taxi boss in Amanzimtoti.
The case has been adjourned to 10 April, when the court will hear the formal bail application.
