Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has declared that he has no regrets over his actions while in office, following his recent release from prison custody.

Malami was remanded by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over money laundering allegations involving himself, his wife, and his son. Speaking to reporters after his release, he described his experience in EFCC custody, Kuje Prison, and under the Department of State Services (DSS) as part of God’s will, while emphasizing his intention to defend himself.

“They violated my rights by searching my houses and business premises without notifying me. Constitutionally, I have the right to be present during such searches to oversee the investigation and know what is being examined or taken,” Malami said. “I have no regrets regarding what I did during my time as a minister.”

He also thanked Nigerians who supported him during the ordeal, calling for collective action to defend justice, accountability, and national integrity.

“To friends and political associates within and outside Nigeria, I thank you for standing on the side of fairness, justice, and the rule of law. I remain confident that truth will prevail, justice will endure, and integrity will outlive every orchestrated distraction,” Malami stated.

He urged Nigerians to join him in the pursuit of national redemption, stressing that “the struggle is just beginning,” and called for courage, conviction, and faith to reclaim the promise of the nation.
