Officials at the David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences (DUFUHS) in Ebonyi State have publicly dismissed online claims of a governance crisis at the institution. The Pro‑Chancellor and Chairman of the university’s governing council spoke out to clarify that both the council and management are working closely together, and that reports suggesting a leadership dispute are unfounded.
In a press briefing on the university campus, the Pro‑Chancellor said he was taken aback by circulating stories asserting he had been sidelined or that internal disagreements had destabilised the university’s operations. He described such narratives as misleading and the work of people who want to create unnecessary doubt about the institution’s stability.
He insisted that the governing council continues to provide guidance and oversight in concert with the university’s management team. According to him, collaboration among stakeholders remains strong, and there are no disruptions affecting academic or administrative functions.
University authorities reassured students, staff, and the public that everything is progressing normally. They called on well‑wishers to disregard false reports and focus instead on the ongoing growth and development efforts at the federal institution.
