The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has urged community leaders and residents around the Bodo‑Bonny road area to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, emphasizing that continuing the current administration is crucial for completing the highway project.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Bodo‑Bonny Road and Bridges Peace Committee, Umahi — represented by the Minister of State for Works Bello Goronyo — said the road project is key not only for transportation but also for boosting trade, connecting coastal towns to the mainland, and strengthening unity in the Niger Delta.

He noted that Phase II of the road project has been approved and preparations are underway to begin work soon, stressing that political stability and consistent leadership would help sustain momentum on long-term infrastructure initiatives.

Umahi also praised Tinubu for promoting inclusive development, noting that federal investment in roads and other infrastructure will benefit all regions. Supporters of the project highlighted that completing the road will create new business opportunities, improve transport for the oil and gas sector, and better integrate communities that have long relied on water transport.
