As Christians across Abia State join their counterparts worldwide to commemorate Palm Sunday, former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, has called on the faithful to reflect on the virtues of faith, humility, and sacrifice as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Ogah described Palm Sunday as a significant moment in the Christian faith, symbolizing the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem and a reminder of the divine purpose fulfilled through humility and obedience.
He urged Christians to go beyond the symbolic celebration with palm fronds by embracing a lifestyle rooted in peace, love, and service to humanity. According to him, the lessons of Palm Sunday remain relevant in promoting unity and moral responsibility in society.
“Palm Sunday reminds us that true leadership is anchored on humility and service. As we celebrate, let us commit ourselves to righteous living and unwavering faith in God, even in challenging times,” he stated.
Dr. Ogah further called on Christians to use the Holy Week as a period of sober reflection and fervent prayers for peace, unity, and sustainable development in Abia State and Nigeria at large.
He wished all Christians a blessed Palm Sunday and a spiritually rewarding Holy Week.
