The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has dismissed head coach Otto Addo just 72 days before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The decision comes after a series of disappointing results, including recent friendly defeats to Germany and Austria. Ghana’s struggles have extended beyond these matches, as the team failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and has now lost its last four games, raising concerns about its readiness for the global tournament.
With the World Cup fast approaching, the Black Stars are under pressure to quickly appoint a new coach and restore confidence within the squad. Ghana is scheduled to face Panama, England, and Croatia in the group stage.
The GFA has indicated that a new technical direction for the team will be announced in the coming days.
