Nollywood actress and producer Iyabo Ojo has finally addressed the controversy surrounding the tense moment between Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, following calls for her to step in.

Taking to Instagram, Ojo said she would comment on the matter for the “first and last time,” while responding to criticism from fans who expected her to mediate between the two actresses.

She revealed that she had made several attempts in the past to reconcile Akindele and Abraham, noting that their relationship has seen its share of ups and downs. Ojo admitted that during a previous disagreement involving Abraham’s film, she publicly criticised Akindele, a move she now regrets.

According to her, she later resolved her own issues with Akindele and went on to broker peace between both actresses. She said she encouraged them to move past their differences, and they agreed to keep any future disagreements off social media.

However, tensions reportedly resurfaced in December when Abraham raised concerns about the performance of her film in cinemas, suggesting possible sabotage. The claims sparked speculation among fans, with some pointing fingers at Akindele, reigniting friction between the two.

Ojo also spoke about her latest project, The Return of Arinzo, disclosing that Abraham was initially set to feature in the film but withdrew at the last minute due to fatigue and travel commitments. She said the change affected production and required parts of the script to be rewritten, although the issue was eventually resolved.

Despite her past efforts, Ojo made it clear she would no longer involve herself in their disputes.

“The sky is big enough for all,” she stated, adding that she maintains a cordial relationship with both actresses but will now allow them to handle their differences privately.

The controversy stems from a viral clip at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, held on March 29, 2026, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In the video, Abraham is seen approaching Akindele and attempting to greet her while slightly bowing. Akindele, who stars in the film, appeared to ignore the gesture, keeping a straight face and looking away.

The moment quickly sparked reactions online, with many interpreting it as a snub and questioning the state of their relationship. Some also criticised Ojo, urging her to intervene due to her close ties with both women.

As of the time of reporting, neither Akindele nor Abraham has publicly commented on the incident.
