Nigeria’s national football team will be without goalkeeper Maduka Okoye for their upcoming friendly against Jordan after he picked up a thigh injury during training in Antalya, Turkey.
The 26‑year‑old, who featured in Nigeria’s 2‑1 win over Iran, will return to his club in Italy to undergo treatment and rehabilitation.
Okoye’s absence means Francis Uzoho is expected to take the starting spot, with Adebayo Adeleye also available as backup between the posts.
Despite the setback, the Super Eagles are continuing preparations for the match as they look to build on their recent victory in Antalya.
