Dangote Refinery Denies Reports of Seven Crude Shipments

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has refuted recent claims that it was allocated seven crude oil cargoes for May, describing the reports as inaccurate. The company stated that while it is in discussions over crude allocations, the volume expected for the month does not match the figure circulating in the media.

Refinery officials clarified that the expected intake for May is around 6.15 million barrels, which translates to fewer cargoes than reported. They urged stakeholders to wait for official allocation figures before drawing conclusions.

The refinery also emphasized ongoing challenges in securing sufficient local crude supply to operate at full capacity, noting that more cargoes are needed each month to maximize output.

This statement comes amid broader concerns about domestic fuel supply and the efforts to support local refining in Nigeria.
