“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
Greetings brethren, in the name of our lord Jesus. I am your brother and it bothers my heart to bring you this massage. Do you know that One of the hardest words for many Christians to hear is “Wait.” We live in a fast world where everything seems instant, fast food, instant messages, express deliveries. But God does not work with human clocks. His timing is always perfect, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8–9). Sometimes, His greatest blessings are hidden in seasons of waiting.
Abraham and Sarah waited twenty-five years for the promised son, Isaac, yet God fulfilled His word at the appointed time (Genesis 21:1–2). Joseph spent years in prison and hardship, but in the fullness of time, God lifted him from the dungeon to the palace (Genesis 41:39–41). David was anointed king as a young boy, yet he waited many years, enduring trials and persecution, before sitting on the throne of Israel (2 Samuel 5:4).
Each of these men discovered that waiting is not punishment, but preparation. Romans 5:3–4 reminds us that “tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope.” God uses seasons of waiting to build character, increase faith, and prepare His children for greater glory.
When we wait on the Lord, we are not to wait with grumbling or despair, but with faith and expectation. Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” In waiting, God renews our strength, sharpens our vision, and aligns us with His perfect will.
Therefore, waiting is not wasted time. Just as a seed buried in the ground appears hidden but is growing roots, so God works in us during the unseen seasons. In due season, the harvest will surely come (Galatians 6:9).
Beloved, if you find yourself in a season of delay, take courage. God’s “Not yet” is not His “No.” Habakkuk 2:3 assures us, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
Trust in the Lord’s timing, for those who wait on Him will never be put to shame (Psalm 25:3).
