Test Transmission Begins for Don FM 103.7 and Ikoro FM 93.3 in Umuahia

Umuahia, Abia State – The airwaves of Abia State witnessed a new dawn over the weekend as the test transmission for Don FM 103.7 and Ikoro FM 93.3, both based in Umuahia, officially commenced. The stations, equipped with state-of-the-art broadcast technology, began their test signals on the evening of Saturday, June 14, captivating listeners across the state for several hours.
Ambassador Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu, who is the Group Chairman of Don Media Group, expressed joy and gratitude over the milestone. He described the commencement as the fruit of years of consistent behind-the-scenes efforts by him and his dedicated team.
According to him, Don FM and Ikoro FM are poised to redefine the media landscape in the region with refreshing and innovative programming tailored to inform, entertain, and inspire the people of Abia and beyond.
Speaking on the official launch scheduled for Thursday, June 27, which coincides with his birthday celebration, Don Lulu revealed that preparations are in top gear for what he described as a historic event. He confirmed that top Nigerian music stars, including Davido and Timaya, have confirmed their participation and will be live in Umuahia to thrill the crowd.
He invited all Abians and media enthusiasts to Umuawa for the official commissioning of the stations, followed by a massive musical concert at the Umuahia Township Stadium. The celebrations will climax on Sunday, June 28, with a star-studded birthday pool party attended by celebrity friends and well-wishers.
Speaking on the forthcoming launch of the stations on the 27th of this month, which will be used to Mark his birthday, Donlulu confirmed that all is now set for the epic event, as all the musicians that will perform especially Davido and Timaya have confirmed that they are coming to thrill abians with great tunes
He therefore urged all abians to come to Umuawa, for the commissioning of the stations , and later to umuahia township stadium, where these artistes will perform
Mayor Igbokwe hinted that the celebration will be rounded off on Sunday 28th of this month with a birthday pool party with celebrity friends
