The Honourable Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Ogah, has revealed the reason behind his decision to construct a modern stadium in Isuikwuato.

Speaking to journalists during an inspection visit to the project site, Hon. Ogah said the stadium project is a personal vision driven by his desire to empower the youth, promote unity, and create new economic opportunities within the constituency.

“This stadium is not just about football. It is a bold investment in our people, especially the youths. Sports is a major tool for development, talent discovery, and peacebuilding,” he stated.

According to Hon. Ogah, the facility, when completed, will include a standard football pitch, spectators’ stands, changing rooms, and space for other recreational activities. He emphasized that the stadium would not only host sporting events but also serve as a venue for cultural, entertainment, and social programs that bring the community together.

“I want to give our young people the opportunity to dream beyond the streets. Many footballers and athletes started their journeys from community stadiums like this. Why not our constituency?” he asked.

The stadium, which is already under construction, is expected to boost local commerce, inspire tourism, and further place Isuikwuato/Umunneochi on the map as a hub for sporting activities in Abia State.

Community leaders, youth groups, and sports enthusiasts have applauded Hon. Ogah for the initiative, describing it as visionary and unprecedented in the history of the constituency.

This project adds to a growing list of people-centered initiatives by Hon. Ogah since he assumed office, including road construction, market development, and ongoing educational support across communities in Isuikwuato and Umunneochi.
