The National Vice Chairman (South East) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Augustine Ehiemere, has called on Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, to return to APGA, describing it as his true political base and the most stable platform for effective and sustainable governance.
Ehiemere made the appeal during the APGA stakeholders’ meeting for Abia South Senatorial District held last week in the state. He emphasized that APGA remains the most consistent and ideologically grounded political party in Nigeria.
“Governor Otti should come back to his political home, APGA, where he began his political journey,” Ehiemere said. “The Labour Party is currently engulfed in internal crises, ADC is almost collapsing, APC lacks safety for his political vision, and PDP is already weakened. APGA offers him the stability and ideological clarity he needs to continue his developmental agenda.”
Ehiemere praised Governor Otti’s performance in office, especially his strides in improving security, workers’ welfare, and inter-state collaboration, citing his partnership with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and the establishment of the Abia State Security Trust Fund.
He also commended the governor for consistently paying salaries and pensions but urged him to prioritize the payment of outstanding gratuities owed to retired workers.
In his concluding remarks, Ehiemere encouraged APGA members in Abia South and across the state to remain steadfast and loyal to the party’s principles.
It is worth noting that Governor Alex Otti was APGA’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2015 and 2019 Abia State elections.
