The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the operations of the NAHCO Export Packaging & Processing Centre (NEPPC) as part of efforts to enhance Nigeria’s export capacity and economic growth.

During a visit to the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) Head Office and the NEPPC facility in Lagos, Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr. Bashir Adeniyi, praised the scale of investment in the centre, emphasizing its strategic importance in promoting the export of Nigerian agricultural and other commodities.

“I commend your efforts here. Any initiative that contributes to the growth of our economy, particularly in the area of exports, will always receive my full support,” Adeniyi stated.

To further facilitate operations, he directed the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Cargo Terminal Command, Mr. M.T. Awe, to finalize all necessary procedures to ensure the centre operates at full capacity.

Adeniyi highlighted that the role of the Nigeria Customs Service goes beyond revenue collection, stressing its responsibility in supporting businesses that generate employment and earn foreign exchange for the nation.

In response, Group Managing Director/CEO of NAHCO, Mr. Olumuyiwa Olumekun, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a timely morale booster for the company’s efforts to enhance agro-export operations through Nigerian airports.

Olumekun noted that the NEPPC is designed to operate at international standards, ensuring that perishable exports are handled separately to free up space in the main NAHCO export shed. He added that the centre was established to ensure proper packaging and compliance with global market requirements for Nigerian commodities.
